'Ensemble' - Artists from both hemispheres coming together around music.
«Alone, we go faster. Together, we go further.» - African Proverb
AN ELECTRONIC ALBUM BY ARTISTS WE LOVE
We felt inspired to create a release for this project from artists we love, including their connection with nature and inspiration from Earth. All songs have a unique sound signature while harmonically completing each other in this patiently curated release.
You'll find in this release, original compositions from Asunder, Chris Ojeda, Dexter Crowe, Izhy, Kora, Milo Häfliger, Oiseau de Nuit, Rafaelle and Ryke. You can listen to ‘Ensemble’ here.
MUSIC AS A WAY TO GIVE BACK
As our home is calling for help, we are happy to announce that each artist as well as Saisons are donating as a gesture, the sum of 25 CAD $ per song to a local organisation to the choice of each artist. From animal shelters to aboriginal art organisations, we believe in the power of music to give back to the communities around us and make this world a better place.
ARTISTS GIVING BACK: WHICH ORGANISATION DID YOU CHOOSE TO SUPPORT AND WHY?
OISEAU DE NUIT
I choose ‘Nature Quebec’! They have taken action in projects relating to biodiversity, forests, energy and climate from where I am based. They are raising awareness, mobilizing and acting for a more just society, with a low ecological and climatic footprint and this is why I've decided to donate to this organisation!

RYKE
I love animals and feel like supporting animals in need such as those living there is something very important.

ASUNDER
The organisation I have chosen to support is an animal welfare charity called ‘Born Free’. I am passionate about animal welfare and believe wild animals should not be held in captivity for human benefit.

MILO
I choose to support an organization of my hometown that takes care of young immigrants because they're kind of forgotten in this whole moment of crisis.

DEXTER & RAFAELLE
We've chosen to support The Indigenous Curatorial Collective who are a Indigenous run and led non-profit organisation that work to connect fellow Indigenous curators, artists, writers, academics, and professionals through various methods of gathering. Their mission is to increase indigenous representation, sovereignty and to "engage in critical discourse, increase professional opportunities for their members, develop programming and work to build reciprocal relationships with Indigenous curators, artists and communities and the institutions they work with." We've chosen to support them because we both believe that the key to avoiding total self destruction as a society lies in the integration of indigenous values, spirituality, wisdom and culture. Indigenous artists are the communicators of this culture and especially in these fragile times, their voices need to be heard and their art seen, on their own terms.

KORA
I’ve chosen to support the Native Friendship Center of Montréal. They do important work on the ground to support urban indigenous communities, which consist of the ten First Nations of Québec, as well as the Inuit and Métis of Montreal. As my studio is in the downtown area, I’ve been witnessing the rising number of homeless indigenous people. A few of them told me they are coming to the city to escape the poor living conditions they experience where they are born. I firmly believe that as a society, we must acknowledge the injustices and allocate more resources to empower the communities that are still to this day, victims of racism and colonialism. Let’s open our hearts, the healing of our planet comes from within.

CHRIS OJEDA
I would love to support the American Rivers organization. I am very adamant of making sure our natural rivers remain clean for all the life it supports.

IZHY
I chose to support the Carayá Project with whom I was in contact after the last forest fires in the province of Córdoba in November, where numerous species of flora were reduced to ashes and a large amount of native fauna was also affected, especially animals, reptiles and rodents that found refuge in this Animal Sanctuary that works tirelessly for the conservation of our primates.

SPECIAL THANKS
We would like to say a warm thank you to all the artists for the love and heart they’ve put in the creation of those songs and for trusting Saisons as a home for them. We are also very thankful for our friend Maty Owl who helped us create the beautiful motion designs that react to the music - you can watch them here. You can expect a magical EP from Maty in a near future on Saisons. Thanks to Tillman who mastered the compilation in such a precise and dynamic way. Thanks to Ashlee Delanee for the wonderful ice photography, captured this past winter in Québec. Thank you to our friends at When We Dip for the Interview Feature, and most importantly, thanks to all of YOU who are reading this, supporting what we do as artists and music label, you are the reason that allows us to do what we love.
Hugs & grooves,
Saisons team.
